Quelle heureuse surprise de voir qu’il avait fait des recherches dans les années 80 sur le 425 Alouette.
My memory is beginning to come back, and as the fog clears I will send you little updates.
The original Lancaster X serial KB725 flew with No. 428 [Ghost] squadron as NA-L until it crashed on 3 Feb. 1945. It was replaced with KB876 but never completed any operations. In early May 1945, KB876 was transferred from No. 428 at Middleton St. George to No. 425 at Tholthorpe and she became KW-L. The new pilot was Al Davies and he picked the nose art name « Lucky Lady’, which he flew in training in England and returned to Canada 13 June 1945. The photo [below] I sent to you, was in the collection of Al Davies and possibly confirms that KB882 was transferred to 425 but no records back this.
The color photo from Richard Koval records « Rabbit’s Stew » at Delbert, Nova Scotia, 15 June 1945.
I talked with Richard Koval and will see what he can come up with.
